Change the look of text in tables

You can change the appearance of text for the entire table or just for specific table cells.

Change the font, size, and color of table text

You can change the font, size, color, and other attributes of text in table cells.

  1. Do either of the following:

    • Change all text in a table: Click anywhere on the table to select it.

    • Change the text in specific cells: Select the cells with the text you want to change.

  2. If you don’t see a sidebar on the right, click Format inspector button in the toolbar.

  3. Click Text at the top of the sidebar, then do any of the following:

    • Click the paragraph style name under the Text button, then choose a paragraph style from the Paragraph Style pop-up menu.

    • Click the Style button below the paragraph style name, then use the text controls to make your own choices for font, font size, color, or character style (such as bold or italic).

Change the font for all table text

You can increase or decrease the font size proportionally for all text in the table. When you make the text larger or smaller, all text increases or decreases by the same percentage.

  1. Click the table.

  2. Click the Table tab at the top of the sidebar on the right, then click the Table Font Size buttons.

    If you don’t see a sidebar on the right, or it doesn’t have a Table tab, click Format inspector button in the toolbar.
