Getting to Know the Mixer

The main elements of the Mixer are as follows:

• Channel strips: Use to process audio or MIDI information that is routed from Arrange tracks. For more information, see Understanding Channel Strip Types in the Mixer.
• Channel strip controls: Use to adjust the level and other aspects of the audio signal played through the channel strip. For details about the different controls, see Understanding Channel Strip Controls in the Mixer.
• View buttons: Use to switch the Mixer between the Single, Arrange, and All views, limiting the Mixer view to channel strips required for the task at hand. For details, see Customizing the Mixer.
• Filter buttons: Use to filter the display of specific channel strip types. For more information, see Using Filter Buttons in the Mixer.
