A Magic Move transition creates the effect of objects moving from their positions on one slide to new positions on the next slide when you play your presentation.
The easiest way to create a Magic Move transition is to create a slide and add objects to it, then duplicate the slide and rearrange, resize, or reorient the objects on the duplicated slide. Any objects appearing on both slides become part of the transition. Any objects appearing on the first slide, but not the following slide, fade out. Any objects appearing on the following slide, but not the original slide, fade in.
Place objects (text boxes, shapes, and images) on a slide.
Select the same slide in the slide navigator, then press Command-D to duplicate the slide.
Change the position or appearance of the objects on one or both slides. (The Magic Move transition is most effective when both slides include at least one common object whose position or appearance has been altered.)
For example, you can drag objects to new locations, rotate or resize objects, or change their opacity. You can also add or delete objects on either slide.
Select the first of the two slides.
Click the Add an Effect button near the top of the sidebar on the right.
If you don’t see a sidebar, or the sidebar doesn’t have an Add an Effect button, click
in the toolbar.
Choose Magic Move.
To preview the transition, click Preview near the top of the sidebar.
To customize transition characteristics, use the controls in the sidebar to do any of the following:
Change the duration of the transition: Drag the slider near the top of the sidebar.
Make unmatched objects instantly appear or disappear during the transition: Turn off Fade Unmatched Objects.
Match text between slides: To move one or more words on the first slide to new positions on the second slide, click By Word. This animation gives the effect of words repositioning themselves to form new phrases or sentences.
To move characters on the first slide to new positions on the second slide, click By Character. This animation gives the effect of letters repositioning themselves to form new words.
Change how quickly the objects move between locations:
Move objects at a constant speed: Click None.
Slow objects when they approach their locations: Click Ease In.
Accelerate objects after they leave their locations: Click Ease Out.
Accelerate objects when they leave their locations and then slow them when they approach their new locations: Click Ease In & Ease Out.
Change when to start the transition: Choose On Click or Automatically from the pop-up menu. If you choose Automatically, to set the amount of time before the transition starts, click the Delay pop-up menu and choose an option.
