About Archives organizer

Use the Archives organizer to manage archives of your app, specifically export or upload builds of your app. An archive allows you to build your app and store it, along with critical debugging information, in a bundle that’s managed by Xcode. To archive your app, go to Create an archive of your app.

In the Archives organizer, you can export an archive to distribute your app on registered devices or distribute your Mac app outside the Mac App Store. You can run App Store validation tests of an archive before you upload it to App Store Connect. Then upload the archive to App Store Connect for distribution through TestFlight or the App Store.

For all the export and upload options, go to Distribution methods and Distribution options.

To open the Archives organizer, choose Window > Organizer, then click Archives.

The left column shows the names of the apps you have archived. The middle pane lists the archives you created for the selected app. The inspector on the right displays details about the selected archive. The archive inspector contains controls to distribute (upload or export), and validate your app.
