You can set up iPhoto to fit your work style.

Explanation

Sources: Show last __ months album

Select to show an item (“Last 12 Months,” for example) below Recent in the Source list. (In full-screen view, click the Albums button to see the “Last 12 months” album.) To set the months, click the arrows or type a number between 1 and 18.

Sources: Show item counts

Select to show the number of photos next to each item in your Source list.

Rotate

Select whether to rotate photos clockwise or counterclockwise when you click the Rotate button (one of the editing tools).

Connecting camera opens

Choose the application that opens when you connect your camera to your computer.

Autosplit into Events

When you import photos into iPhoto, photos are organized by event, depending on when they were taken. Choose an option from the pop-up menu to change the time frame that constitutes an event.

Email photos using

Choose the application that iPhoto uses when you choose Share > Email.
