Preview how a layout appears on different iOS devices, in different orientations, at different split view sizes, and in different localizations in the assistant editor.
On the Interface Builder canvas or in the outline view, select the desired view controller.
Choose View > Assistant Editor > Show Assistant Editor to open the assistant editor.
In the assistant editor, open the editor popover menu by clicking on first item in the jump bar.
In the popover menu, choose Preview.
In the assistant editor, click the plus (+) button at the lower left of the window.
In the popover menu that appears, select a device.
The choices include split screen sizes such as one-third of an iPad screen.
In the assistant editor, move the mouse over the desired preview and click the rotation button (
) that appears below the device preview and beside the name of the device.
In the assistant editor, click in the background to deselect all previews.
In the assistant editor, click the language button at the lower right of the window.
In the popover menu that appears, select a language for the previews.
In the assistant editor, select the desired preview.
In the assistant editor, click the language at the lower right of the window.
In the popover menu that appears, select a language for the preview.
