You can import photos and media from emails, from texts sent using Messages, and from webpages in Safari.
You can import photos that you’ve received in an email into Photos.
Open the email message.
Do one of the following:
Drag the photo from the email to the Photos window.
Control-click the photo and choose Share > Add to Photos.
Open the email message.
Save the photo to your computer: Control-click the photo, then choose a save option.
Open Photos, then choose File > Import.
Select the photos you want to import, then click Review for Import.
If you selected multiple photos or videos, select the ones you want to import and click Import [number] Selected or Import All.
If you use a web-based email account, such as iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or Hotmail, you can import photos and video from your email messages.
Open the email message.
Do one of the following:
If you’re using Safari, Control-click the photo in the email, then choose Add Image to Photos.
If you’re using another Internet browser, Control-click the photo in the email, then choose a save option.
After you save the photo to your Mac, you can import it into Photos.
You can import a photo sent to you in Messages into Photos.
Do one of the following:
Drag the photo from Messages onto the Photos icon in the Dock.
Drag the photo from the Messages window to the desktop, then drag the photo into the Photos window.
Control-click the photo in the message, then choose Add to Photos Library.
You can download a photo from a webpage you’re viewing in Safari. Be sure to observe copyright law and permissions agreements when downloading images from the web.
Do one of the following:
Drag the photo from the webpage to your desktop, then drag the photo into the Photos window.
Drag the photo from Safari onto the Photos icon in the dock.
Control-click the photo and choose Add Image to Photos.
