Transfer documents with a WebDAV server

You can copy your Pages documents to a WebDAV server then transfer them from the server to your iOS device. You can also open and edit them on the server.

Connect to a WebDAV server from a Mac

  1. Click the desktop to switch to the Finder.

  2. Choose Go > Connect to Server (from the Go menu at the top of your screen).

  3. Type the address of the server in the Server Address field, then click Connect.

The server address should be in a form similar to this:

http://servername.com/path/

You can find more information about using WebDAV in Mac Help. Click the desktop to switch to the Finder, choose Help > Mac Help (from the Help menu at the top of your screen), then search for WebDAV.

Copy files between a WebDAV server and an iOS device

  1. Open Pages on your device.

  2. With the document manager in browse view, tap Browse again to see the Locations list, or tap Locations in the top-left corner.

  3. If you don’t see WebDAV below Locations, tap Edit in the top-right corner of the screen, tap WebDAV to turn it on, then tap Done.

  4. Tap WebDAV in the Locations list, then tap Connect to WebDAV Server.

  5. Type the server address and your user name and password, then tap Sign In.

After you sign in to your WebDAV server, you can open and edit files on the server without signing in again. You remain signed in to the server until you tap the Eject button next to WebDAV in the Locations list.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • Copy a file from the server: Tap the file on the server. When the transfer is complete, the file appears in the document manager. Tap it to open it on your device.

    • Copy a document to the server: With the document manager in browse view, tap Select in the top-right corner, tap the document, then tap Move at the bottom of the screen. Tap WebDAV then tap Copy in the top-right corner.

    • Open and edit a file: Tap the file. When the transfer is complete, the file opens and any edits you make are synced back to the server.
