Transfer documents with a WebDAV server

You can copy your Pages documents to a WebDAV server then transfer them from the server to your iOS device.

Pages doesn’t import rich text format (RTF) file types. Convert RTF files to another supported file type before importing them into Pages.

Connect to a WebDAV server from a Mac

  1. Click the desktop to switch to the Finder.

  2. Choose Go > Connect to Server (from the Go menu at the top of your screen).

  3. Type the address of the server in the Server Address field, then click Connect.

The server address should be in a form similar to this:

http://servername.com/path/

You can find more information about using WebDAV in Mac Help. Click the desktop to switch to the Finder, choose Help > Mac Help (from the Help menu at the top of your screen), then search for WebDAV.

Copy files between a WebDAV server and an iOS device

  1. Open Pages on your device.

If the server is already set up on your device, skip to step 6. Otherwise, go to the next step to set up server access on your device.

  2. In the document manager, tap Locations in the toolbar.

  3. Tap “Copy from WebDAV,” then type the server address (web address or URL).

  4. Enter your user name and password.

  5. Tap Sign In.

You remain signed in to the server until you tap Sign Out.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • Copy a document from the server: Tap Locations in the document manager toolbar, then tap “Copy from WebDAV.” Locate the file on the server, then tap it. When the transfer is complete, the document appears in the document manager.

    • Copy a document to the server: Tap Share button in the document manager toolbar, tap Send a Copy, then tap the document you want to transfer. Tap a format for the document, then tap WebDAV. Tap where you want to send the document, then tap Copy.
