When you click anywhere in a table, controls appear around the table so you can select, move, or resize it.
Note: Long tables in page layout documents don’t flow to the next page. If you have a long table, consider converting the document to a word-processing document. If the table doesn’t flow to the next page in a word-processing document, set the table to Move with text.
Resizing a table makes the table larger or smaller; it doesn’t change the number of rows and columns it contains.
Click the table to select it.
Drag any of the selection handles (the white squares) on the edge of the table to make the table larger or smaller:
Resize the rows and columns simultaneously: Drag the white square in the corner.
Resize the table proportionally: Shift-drag the white square in the corner.
Click the table to select it.
Drag
in the top-left corner to move the table to where you want it.

You can lock a table so that it can’t be edited, moved, or deleted.
Do one of the following:
Lock a table: Click the table to select it, click the Arrange tab at the top of the sidebar on the right, then click Lock in the sidebar.
If you don’t see a sidebar, or the sidebar doesn’t have an Arrange tab, click
in the toolbar.
Unlock a table: Click the table to select it, click the Arrange tab at the top of the sidebar, then click Unlock in the sidebar.
