Show word count and other document statistics

You can show the word count, character count (with or without spaces), number of paragraphs, and number of pages in a document.

Show word, character, and paragraph count

  1. Tap Tools button, then tap Settings.

  2. Tap Word Count, then tap anywhere on the screen to close Settings.

    The word count appears near the bottom of the screen.

  3. To see other statistics, tap the word count.

    To display one of the other statistics, tap it in the pop-up menu.

  4. Drag the counter anywhere on the screen.

To see word count and other statistics for only part of a document, select the text that you want to check—the count updates to reflect only the selected text.
