Because Pages continually saves your work, you can browse earlier versions of any document, save copies of previous versions, and restore a document to an earlier version.
In the document manager, tap Edit.
When the documents begin to jiggle, tap one, then tap Versions.
Thumbnails for previous versions of the document appear.
Tap a previous version to select it.
Tap Preview.
Pages displays the version. You can search for text in the preview, and you can copy text and objects. However, you can’t edit in the preview.
Do one of the following:
Save a copy of the version shown in the preview: Tap Save a Copy.
Pages opens the copy as a new document for you to edit. (The original version is available in the document manager, where the copied version also appears.)
Close the preview and return to the current version: Tap Close.
A restored version replaces the current version. To keep the current version and an earlier one, make a copy of the earlier version, as described in the previous task.
In the document manager, tap Edit.
When the documents begin to jiggle, tap one, then tap Versions.
Thumbnails for previous versions of the document appear.
Tap a previous version to select it, then do one of the following:
Restore the version: Tap Restore. (To leave the most current version unchanged, tap Done instead of Restore.)
The restored version appears the next time you open the document.
View the version and restore it: Tap Preview, then tap Restore. (To close the preview without restoring the selected version, tap Close instead of Restore, then tap Done.)
Pages opens the restored version for you to edit.
Note: Collaborators with editing privileges can copy and restore only the versions created after you shared the document. Collaborators with View Only privileges have no access to earlier versions.
If you add or change a document password, the password applies only to versions created after the password was added or changed. To prevent others from restoring unprotected versions or versions with older passwords, stop sharing the document, add a password to it, then share the document again.
