You can add video to a sheet, then set how it plays. You can’t add audio to a spreadsheet using iPad, but if you use Numbers on a Mac to add audio, you can adjust the audio playback on iPad. Tap the Play button on the media to play it in the spreadsheet.
Note: Media files must be in a format that QuickTime supports on your device. If you can’t add or play a media file, try using iMovie, QuickTime Player, or Compressor on a Mac to convert the file to a QuickTime file, in MPEG-4 audio or H.264 (720 p) video format.
Do one of the following:
Tap where you want to insert the video, tap
, then tap

Tap
in the bottom-right corner of an image placeholder.
Tap an album or tap “Insert from” below the albums.
Tap the video you want to add (you may have to tap a folder first), then tap Use.
If you’re inserting a video from iCloud or another service, you need to tap folders to find the video.
If your device has a camera, you can take a video and insert it directly into your spreadsheet.
Tap where you want to add the video.
Tap
, then tap
.
Tap “Take Photo or Video” below the albums.
Take the video, then do one of the following:
Insert the video: Tap Use Photo.
Take the video again: Tap Retake.
Cancel and return to the spreadsheet: Tap Retake, then tap Cancel.
Drag the video to reposition it.
You can’t edit the video in Numbers. The video is available in the Photos app on your device.
Tap the video on the sheet.
Tap
, then tap Movie.
Tap Replace.
Do one of the following:
Tap “Take a Photo or Video” below the albums, take the video, then tap either Use Video or Retake.
Tap an album, or tap “Insert from” below the albums, tap the video you want, (you may have to tap a folder first), then tap Use.
You can set video and audio to repeat in a loop.
Tap the video or audio on the sheet.
Note: You can't add audio to your spreadsheet in Numbers for iOS, but you can add audio in Numbers for Mac, then adjust audio playback on iPad.
Tap
, tap Movie or Audio, then tap an option:
None: The video or audio plays one time, then stops.
Loop: The video or audio plays continuously until you go to another sheet.
Loop Back & Forth: The video or audio repeatedly plays forward then backward until you go to another sheet.
