Use iCloud Drive with Keynote

iCloud Drive stores your presentations and keeps them up to date on your computers and iOS devices that are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID. You always see the latest version of your presentation, no matter where you made your last edits.

For seamless syncing of presentations, use iCloud Drive, iOS 8 or later on your devices, and OS X 10.10 or later on your Mac computers. On your iOS device, items stored in iCloud Drive appear in the presentation manager.

You can also use Keynote for iCloud to create and edit Keynote presentations using a supported web browser on a Mac or Windows computer.

Set up iCloud Drive on your Mac

  1. Open System Preferences (from the Apple menu at the top-left corner of your screen), then click iCloud.

  2. Sign in using your Apple ID, or request an Apple ID, then sign in.

Important: If you forgot your Apple ID or its password, you can recover it on the Apple ID website. Though you can have more than one Apple ID, it’s not recommended. iTunes Store and App Store purchases made with one Apple ID can’t be merged with those made using another Apple ID.

  3. Select the iCloud Drive checkbox.

  4. Click Options next to the iCloud Drive checkbox, then select the Keynote checkbox.

When iCloud is turned off for Keynote on your Mac, edits you make or new presentations that you create aren’t saved in iCloud Drive. Presentations that are newly created or changed on your devices or on your other computers aren’t available in Keynote on your Mac.

See the Apple Support article Set up iCloud Drive for more information.

Open the Keynote for iCloud web app

Presentations you create using Keynote for iCloud are automatically available in Keynote on your Mac and iOS devices that are set up to use iCloud—and vice versa. If you create a presentation using Keynote on an iOS device or a Mac, the presentation appears automatically in Keynote for iCloud.

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to iCloud on your Mac and iCloud Drive is selected (in iCloud preferences in System Preferences).

  2. On your Mac or Windows computer, go to iCloud.com, then sign in using the same Apple ID.

  3. Click Keynote.
