The insertion point is a blinking vertical line or i-beam in text that indicates where the next character you type will appear, or where an inserted object will be placed. To place the insertion point, click in the text where you want to start typing, or where you want to insert an object.
On iPad, you can also drag two fingers across the keyboard to move the insertion point.
