India has consumer advice labels that are specific to each film. Where consumer advice has been issued, it must be displayed in the Apple TV app. The consumer advice labels are issued in the form of initials as follows:
AC — Alcohol Consumption | L — Language | PS — Photo or Pattern Sensitivity |
B — Imitable Behavior | MH — Mild Horror | R — Religiously Sensitive |
C — Criminal Activity | ML — Mild Language | SC — Sexual Content |
D — Drugs or Drug Use | MSD — Mild Suggestive Dialogue | SD — Suggestive Dialogue |
FV — Fantasy Violence | MT — Mild Themes | SV — Sexual Violence |
G — Gambling | MV — Mild Violence | T — Smoking or Tobacco Use |
GV — Graphic Violence | N — Nudity | V — Violence |
H — Horror | P — Prejudice |
Notes
Delivering an advisory is not required for films with a U rating; Apple will always display the advisory "Content Suitable for All Ages” for U-rated films.
The remaining ratings (U/A 7+, U/A 13+, U/A 16+, and A) require at least one advisory.
Submit the consumer advice to Apple using iTunes Connect or XML. Deliver the initials only, not the full advice.
Example: If a film is rated “U/A 16+ AC B T”:
In iTunes Connect, select the rating 16+ and choose the advisory codes from the Content Advisories menu.
In XML, deliver the reason with the <rating> tag and the advisories in <advisory> tags:
<ratings> <rating system="in-movies" reason="for alcohol consumption, imitable behavior, and smoking or tobacco use" code=“UA16+“/> <advisory system="in-movies" code="AC"/> <advisory system="in-movies" code="B"/> <advisory system="in-movies" code="T"/> </ratings>
