Wide Gamut Artwork
Wide Gamut Artwork uses both the color profile Display P3 and a bit depth of 16 bits per channel. By comparison, standard gamut artwork generally uses a narrower color profile called sRGB, as well as a decreased bit depth of 8 bits per channel.
While delivering Wide Gamut Artwork assets is preferred by Apple, it is not a strict requirement in sending artwork to Apple. Many of the artwork submission templates we provide are set to Wide Gamut spec as a default, but note that there is no harm in using standard gamut artwork when working within the templates.
If you intend to leverage Wide Gamut Artwork, please be aware that using Photoshop’s Export, Quick Export or Export As… commands will reduce your file down to standard gamut artwork specs. To avoid this, make sure to use Save As… in Photoshop and click the checkmark to the on position next to Embed Color Profile. While doing so, make sure that Display P3 is listed in the color profile referenced. If it reads sRGB or something else, you will need to go back and use Edit menu > Convert to Profile and choose Display P3 before repeating the above steps.
The Fullscreen Artwork is used to customize movies and TV on tvOS. When you deliver artwork, you will be required to deliver two separate files — one that contains the background art and another with your logo. When creating this artwork, please use the provided Photoshop templates.
Our template will help you to create artwork that’s ready to submit to Apple. It contains a few groups so you can see how your final artwork will look on the Movie Store. We’ve divided the groups into two main groups: Safety Areas & Sample UI and Art.
Art Safe Area. This is the focus of your art. Keep your characters and key talent in the green area.
UI Overlay Area. Extend your art into this area. Avoid high-contrast art in this space and test in the provided PSD to ensure all of the sample text is easy to read. This art should be atmospheric in nature since UI elements will be overlaid here.
Title-Treatment Overlay. This is where your product logo will appear overlaid on your background art. Don't include faces or other important visual elements in the red area, so they won't be covered.
The first group, Safety Areas & Sample UI, includes the boundaries that your art can’t exceed. It also contains a generic sample of the Movie Store that can help you see how buttons and text will overlay on top of your art. A light and dark UI sample is available in this group for your reference.
The second group, labeled Art, is where you should place your artwork. Within this group, there is a Smart Object layer to place your logo. Use it to preview how your logo will overlay on the background.
Note: Content may not be available in the Apple TV app.

Ensure that talent, faces, and characters are layered to provide flexibility if edits need to be made by the Apple Design team.
Title treatments within the file must be on a separate layer, and scalable both up and down as a Photoshop “Smart Object" layer. Convert text to smart objects before transmitting them, not as text layers with editable fonts. Similarly, convert logos and title graphics to smart objects instead of providing simplified, or rasterized versions.
Layered images make your artwork come to life. The layers create a sense of depth, realism, and vitality, and emphasize that the focused item is the closest thing to the user. When you submit artwork, make sure your file meets the requirements and guidelines below.*

Locale and Territory Restrictions Overview
Any artwork with text should have a locale associated with it that represents the language of the text. Artwork can be tagged using two values: territory restrictions and language locales. Territory restrictions are used to limit use of a piece of artwork to a specific territory. Language locales provide a mechanism to specify localizations for artwork. Locales should match the language represented of the artwork text excluding exception cases detailed below.
Simplistic locales (such as en, fr, and es) are preferred. Regional codes can and should be added to the locale (such as en-GB, fr-CA, and es-MX) in scenarios when the core language is being used across multiple countries, with an intention to clarify the language to a region. For example, if the title in Canadian French is different from the title in Parisian French.
Examples and Exceptions
The appropriate locale should be provided to display the artwork correctly. See below for examples of how to provide locale and territory restriction and some exceptions cases.
Artwork Type: 16:9 Poster Art

Exception Case 1: Title in multiple languages
How do we tag an artwork that displays multiple languages?
An artwork which contains the original title and localized title should be tagged with a locale that matches the intended audience. No need to include the locale for original title.

Exception Cases 2: Original title in multiple territories

Exception Case 3: Title in the original language but differently titled per territory
If a title is in the original language but is differently titled in a given territory, how should it be tagged?
Though we prefer the language locales to match the language of the artwork, we want the appropriate artwork to display for the customers. Therefore, for these specific cases, use the language locales to designate the intended audience.
