Add or change the pictures that appear in contact cards and in other apps that use contact information, such as Mail and Messages. Your contacts don’t see the pictures—only you do.
Select a card, then double-click the picture well.
If the picture well is empty, drag an image to the picture well.
Do one of the following to change a picture:
Drag an image to the picture well.
To use a picture from your iCloud Photo Stream, click Photo Stream.
To use a face from Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture, click Faces. The name in Photos, iPhoto, or Aperture must match the name in Contacts.
If the contact is linked to multiple accounts and has multiple account pictures, click Linked.
To take a picture, click Camera.
Click Edit to edit the picture.
To zoom in and out, drag the slider.
To rotate the picture, hold down the Option key while you drag.
To apply special effects, click the Effects button.
Click Done.
Select a contact and choose Card > Clear Custom Image.
You can’t delete or change Exchange contact pictures.
