Checking Hardware Connections and Settings for Recording

Prior to recording, make sure that any sound source you plan to use in your recording session—a mixer, CD player, or microphone, for example—is connected to the audio inputs of your system and is working properly.

You should also check the hardware settings that are important for recording—such as the system memory requirement, I/O buffer size, and so on.

For details about hardware connections and settings, see Setting Up Your System.
